Haitian Hope: FIeld Hospital

Dear friends and family,

"Haitian Hope: Field Hospital" is a documentary of the medical mission trip I took to Haiti last month. I shot all the video and interviews while working with Children of the Nations, the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, and Love A Child, Inc. at the emergency field hospital which opened shortly after the January 12th earthquake. Our group ended up helping close the clinic and discharging many of the patients to the nearby refugee camp, Camp Hope. The film was edited and produced by two of the seniors in my high school film classes at Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, CA. At just over 11-minutes, the film includes clips from video journals I recorded nightly, interviews with medical staff and Haitians, as well as images of what we experienced daily.

All of the other 90 students in my program had the opportunity to edit their own documentaries about the Haiti trip, except without my video journals. Ten of the best of those videos are also posted on our Vimeo site. This video project is truly a labor of love and probably one of the most rewarding, intense, and personal experiences I have had as a teacher.

You can watch the film on our Vimeo site http://vimeo.com/envisioncinema where many of our other student productions are posted and at the specific links below.
